Myanmar US firings: I am told these are PSC’s - personal service contractors.
They are still on the ground in Myanmar now. I do not know the date their termination takes effect. But they have been told they are being fired.
I have asked the State Dept for comment.

This shatters my heart, especially b/c I wasn't inspired by history until the Western Civilization course I took at CCRI ('07-2010.) This became even more ignited by @hcrichardson.bsky.social letters when she began them! If someone in HS said I'd become an activist after 2015, I wouldn't believe it!
I just got confirmation that National History Day, a program that does more to ignite K-12 students' love of history, learning, and yes, even the United States than anything else I've ever seen, had all its funding cut yesterday by the DOGE-axe at the NEH - including for this year's ongoing contest.

Arts and Humanities cuts have eliminated all federal funding of National History Day. My heart breaks for students preparing for State competitions this month/next, and National competition in June. An authoritarian play attacking teaching students to research, analyze sources and present FACTS. 💔
