People were pissed at the budget hearing last night! Lot of powerful testimony from librarians, rec center staff and teachers who had spent the day with traumatized kids and hearing from coworkers scared to come to work because of ICE and SPPD. Frontline staff making $17.50 while SPPD armed for war.

Although this started as a federal raid, and was originally escalated to pepper spray and tear gas by federal agents, SPPD officers have a lot to answer for in their conduct yesterday.

Whistles serve multiple purposes.

They warn neighbors who are at risk - to turn around, to go inside, to find a safe spot.

And they summon additional observers and neighbors to watch and record the actions of ICE and federal agents.

Form a Crowd - Stay Loud. Let's keep each other safe.

I am so sorry.

Decontaminate everything you were wearing when you leave - residual pepper spray re-exposure is awful.
