The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board has its first meeting of the term. Tucked in among the Commissioners taking their oaths and sorting out MPRB leadership and assignments is an agenda item to vote on a contract for the MPRB's general counsel. Brian Rice is almost certain to be selected.

“Like Minneapolis, St Paul still does not officially condone people living outside. But…does not see providing sanitation as being at odds with the goal of getting people into shelter. St Paul workers connect regularly with unsheltered people with an eye to providing a level of sanitation & dignity”

FYI, Hennepin County Sheriff Dawanna Witt will be running for re-election in 2026. Filing period starts May 19th and candidates must be licensed as a peace officer in Minnesota. If you know anyone who's qualified and wouldn't suck, maybe recruit them to run?

After ICE did this in Illinois, the Secretary of State revoked the plates, sent a cease and desist to ICE, threatened to suspend rental car licenses for allowing ICE to swap plates and set up a tip hotline to report plate tampering.
MN deserves the same action.
