Listen to that wind!

I’m glad they managed to de-ice the college kid’s plane in time for them to get in ahead of the storm.

Today while browsing an interactive map about tax base fragmentation in metro areas (I'll link further down) I learned about a tiny city called Hilltop, MN, 16 city blocks in size, an enclave fully inside Columbia Heights.

I just realized I didn’t order chocolate advent calendars yet and time is running out. Anybody know who’s selling them in person in Minneapolis? The cheap chocolate is fine.

Sorry, no….its not. Many of us will never forgive her for lynching Al Franken. That was a contrived right-wing hit job pushed by a disingenuous partisan hack former model who decided to weaponize a joke photo from decades ago. We lost a progressive warrior because of Dem self flagellation.

Wizened Millennials sneering at Gen Alpha: I told you the old ways are best

(Gen X, petting its moldering set of the 1983 World Book Encyclopedia: Soon. Soon.)
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

Today, a short excerpt from my 11yo's history book.

"Fresh air was the last thing that Boss Tweed cared about. He was a scoundrel—a real bad guy who controlled most of [NYC]'s jobs and services. He used his power to get money for himself. He bribed others and forced them to do as he wished."

A real thing a federal agent yelled in my face today when I asked if he liked his job after they had hauled my wife away.

Clearly far *FAR* from the most important thing that happened today but, wtf? Weird shit.

Thread from someone who was there at the ICE action in St. Paul today
Well, I'm very proud to say I chased ICE for four blocks, and got hit by a car! ( Nudged, nudged by a car. I am perfectly fine.) My throat hurts from screaming GET THE FUCK OUT OF OUR TOWN!

There was mob here in St. Paul of 100 people screaming at them, filming them, and chasing them down.

Epstein was dead, to begin with. There is no doubt whatever about that. The register of his burial was signed by the clergyman, the undertaker, and the chief mourner. Trump signed it. And Trump’s name was good for anything he chose to put his hand to. Old Epstein was as dead as a door-nail.
