Mississippians who rely on SNAP to afford food are still waiting to receive full November benefits more than a week after the government shutdown ended due to technical issues with 40-year-old computer systems.

There’s no guarantee full payments will arrive by Thanksgiving or even before December.

I want more people to care that SNAP benefits are being cut off on November 1. 40% of SNAP beneficiaries are children. This is callous and vile.

I made an appointment in my calendar called “Important! Don’t forget!” From 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. There are no notes. If anyone knows what is important from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm eastern, do let me know. I have forgotten what it is but not when it is.

I heard Wonderwall by Oasis on the radio and did not change the station. It didn’t make me sad. Maybe Noel and Liam are right. It takes over 20 years to be okay with songs of breakups, first loves, big moves, and middle school emotions.
