Birch bark documents are fascinating for many reasons, among them the languages they are written in. Most are written in a colloquial Slavic language, and there is also the oldest attestation of Finnic (n° 292) and one document in runic Old Norse (Smol. n° 11)! Here's the Old Norse document: 1/3
