Here's a regular white guy (literally "Chad") not a protester. because, "It seemed pointless, or just a way for people to expiate their sense of guilt." Chad witnessed something shattering. And, that all changed in a moment.

Dick Cheney did more than anyone else to build up expansive and destructive executive branch powers in the wake of 9/11; he lived to see another president turn those same powers against his own daughter.
He should be a warning sign to the GOP today but too many of them are in the cult.

Fascism is never full. It eats laws, neighbors, memory, until there’s nothing left but the chewing. It will never stop on its own—only when enough people say “no” together, loudly, stubbornly, even stupidly, refusing to be swallowed. Mass noncompliance is the only diet fascism can’t stomach.

Bill 33 is probably the most direct attack on university autonomy in Canadian history. The right to select who can attend a university has ALWAYS been in the hands of institutions. Now the government of Ontario wants to change that. A Candian first. And not a very pretty one.
So, with Bill 33, the Ontario government is now giving itself the power to decide what "merit" is and which students should and should not be admitted to each college and university.
(it's and anti-EDI measure, if that's not abundantly clear. Fully Trumpian)

at his rally in Michigan, Trump plays a propaganda video of prisoners having their heads shaved at the Gulag in El Salvador to big cheers from the crowd and "U-S-A!" chants
