Who is going to hold this administration to account? Not the courts who have yet to hold a single person in contempt. Not the Congress, who likely voted unanimously for this because half of them knew the DOJ was going to do exactly this. The survivors must feel so betrayed…again.

This is probably why I feel so off. I have a strong gene for empathy. The cruelty is had to handle.
When people use religious language while cheering cruelty, it creates what philosophers call a moral inversion — good is called evil, and evil is called good.
That is profoundly destabilising to anyone whose nervous system is wired to detect injustice.

Susie Wiles is the mama keeping her toddler in check. Everyone in the cabinet knows it, so they won’t push for her ouster, unless they are stumping for her job.

In a sane political world, the new Presidential Hall with photos and plaques with bizarre synopses of the various presidencies would be enough proof that the president needs to be removed from office for mental incompetence.

He’s the worst of us. The absolute worst of us. And yes, that’s a big problem. But the much, much bigger problem is that the American people put him in power again. The American people put the absolute worst of us in power.

This whole Trump thing is much more about us than him.

I won’t share the sick, twisted post that the President put out on his social media platform about the Reiner’s deaths. He is pathetic. I hope that his sycophants are seeing how unglued he is. Those who continue to follow this man, have no excuse. You can see who he is, and he is unhinged.

Poverty is a policy choice. Concentrated wealth is a policy choice. Inequality is a policy choice. None of it is natural or inevitable. Remember: We have the power to build a system that serves the many, not the powerful few.

This caught me mid-breakfast and I stopped chewing. In fact, I stopped breathing momentarily, and now I have tears in my eyes. Half this country revels in the horror that takes the breath away from the other half of the country.
At first glance, the Anne Frank line is dark humor the kind that makes you snort before your brain has time to register the horror underneath. But the second it sinks in, the laugh dies fast. It curdles. Because the joke only works when the reality behind it is already too damn close for comfort.

Noem didn’t defend her actions because she can’t.
She didn’t deny them because she doesn’t need to.
And she didn’t explain them because she doesn’t care to.

This wasn’t incompetence.
This was impunity.

Local election results should put every GOP politician on notice that they are at serious risk. For Congress members, you should now realize that your fealty to the President, and the abdication of your power to balance his, has you in the crosshairs. When new insurance rates hit, you are toast.

$40 billion to Venezuela. $12 billion to American farmers. That $12 billion is approximately 1/4 of what the farming community needs. I think the President needs to recalculate his aid. He’s got it reversed. Congress, do you stand with our farmers or is it Make Venezuela Great Again for you?

Cancelling citizenship ceremonies is the clear tell. It was never about legal vs illegal immigration. His presidency cannot end soon enough.
Firing over 100 immigration judges.

Arresting immigrants outside of their immigration hearings.

Pausing asylum decisions.

And now? Cancelling citizenship ceremonies, the final step to becoming a U.S. citizen.

Just remember that Trump never cared about "legal immigration."
