I'm trying not to just go nuts retweeting (or whatever it's called here) other people's posts, but at the moment I'm trying to fill out my feed with my hobbies and interests so it isn't just a constant stream of politics. That really killed my spirit in the Bad Place, and I want to be healthier.

I have faced fascism before, in this very country. I was one of 120,000 Japanese Americans summarily rounded up and expelled from our homes at gunpoint, all for the crime of looking like the people who bombed Pearl Harbor.
I spent my childhood behind barbed wire. My parents lost everything. 1/

So I have a little foothold here now. Hopefully, this will be better than the daily horrorshow of The Bad Place. There seem to be lots of good people here, so that's already a bonus, and I understand the block function actually works.

people who use goodreads: jeff bezos owns goodreads and if you want a better alternative there is a black woman owned company called storygraph that you can use to replace it. you can transfer all of your data from goodreads to storygraph and have your mind be free of trumpie jeff bezos! win win. 💙
