I think the fundamental gap here is that non-creative people think that creative people make things for the end product, when in fact it’s the act of creation and not the end point that makes it worthwhile.

one insidious thing about gen AI is it's not just causing us to mistrust dodgy images, it's also making us mistrust images that look perfectly normal. this is gaslighting in a very literal sense bc the technology is undermining the trust we have in our own ability to perceive reality!

yeah, this take makes more sense to me than the idea that a pm who doesn't know to talk to indigeneous communities before announcing a pipeline is somehow playing 4d chess. (gift link, unless I messed it up)

lrt: I did have a moment of thinking that dunking on people for not knowing the current iterations of european mythology is making a lot of assumptions. but more importantly, it suddenly feels like we need more romantasy where people bang non-european mythology

I think about this advice a lot: start your project now, today, even if it'll take you 10 years to do, because the time is going to pass anyway. Time is going to march on! Might as well have something in progress!

well this would definitely ruin my life specifically. (landlord routinely complains about not being able to force me out so he can sweep up those post-2020 rates. i think i am supposed to feel sorry for him?)
In particular, they want leases to no longer necessarily remain in effect indefinitely, so that landlords have more options for creating tenant turnover.
