A common mistake many new writers make is crafting a character and then, without story justification or world building to support it, making them heterosexual. This leaves readers confused & takes them out of the story.

When there’s a transphobic pitch in politics its always but dont worry this is unworkable like now with the labour no trannies on hospital wards but the point isnt the exact policies its the fact “protecting the public from trans people“ just got presented without any pushback as a legit argument

Okay so I have a load of Bovril Facts on hand at all times (just go with it) and one of them is that because it takes part of its name from the aforementioned wacky sci-fi novel, Bovril had the largest stand at the world's first Sci-fi convention in 1891.
That Bovril takes the second half of its name from a wacky Edward Bulwer-Lytton sci-fi novel sounds completely made up, and apparently isn't.
