Difficult to describe the jarring feeling of being called a 'lady' (by people I know, in passing idgaf) difficult to explain what it all means when I barely know myself. Maybe I was a changeling all along?

Here's the thing:
It's OK if you prefer to read things you can identify as authentically own voices particularly re: your own identity (though I don't subscribe to this myself for a variety of reasons) it's NOT OK to dictate who should/n't write something based on assumptions about their identities

I formerly had a few(excluding scattered short stories for the purposes of this):
-V.E.Schwab
-Becky Chambers
-Samantha Shannon
-Xiaolu Guo
I am now behind on all of them!
-Tracy Deonn (that's 3 books 😂)

I want N.K. Jemisin & Ursula Le Guin on this list, but I've made no progress
Does anyone have any writers that you've read everything they've ever written? Obviously not including debut writers 🥰 ill ask about debuts tomorrow! #booksky

I want to write something like that, where the hero is really exasperated and unwilling (but still putting on their boots).

anyway it's fun to think of art as nothing but a site of joint rapture where two gazes entwine. like we love each other sooo much we had to invent color theory and the printing press and hollywood just so that we had something to look at together on a sunday afternoon. no chill at all. embarrassing

There is still time to book for our one day conference on #Religion, #Disability and #Neurodivergence!

The day is for anyone interested in the intersection of disability, neurodivergence and religion and is for academics, practitioners and people wanting to hear some really fab work! /1/

Great news! The AppleTV+ sticker on The Murderbot Diaries vol. 1 is an actual sticker! Which I have now removed 😊

I know they are at least partly used because of algorithms/SM censorship, but I am not a fan of how much the terms 'spice' and 'smut' are now used in bookish spaces📚💙📚🌈

- The President of Colombia told Trump he refused to accept deported folks being shackled on their flights back to Colombia. He won.

The post is AWESOME if you haven't read it yet. (Colombia and the US backed down from a trade war. But he did get what he wanted: Dignity for deportees.)
Colombian President Gustavo Petro's full post ordering an increase of import tariffs on U.S. goods, says he doesn't really like traveling to the U.S. because it's “a bit boring” and invokes the ancestors

Palestinian graphic novel rec of the day.

A girl from an oppressed community joins the reigning Empire’s army in order to gain citizenship. But she learns that the empire’s propaganda are lies, and even the youngest person can spark a resistance.

The Sci-Fi life continues, this is how I reckon with the themes of our every day because I struggle to get through non-fiction for the most part

My brain seems to be calibrated for sci-fi currently, so I'm pulling that thread until it breaks. I'm at about 50% and really enjoying The Red Scholar's Wake so far. Loving the mindships especially 🌈📚💙📚
