I think he's judging me for reading a book and not giving him attention he craves.

Human beings deserve human rights.

All of them.

Even ones whose governments and/or representative bodies commit atrocities.

Even ones who--yes-- commit atrocities themselves.

You don't lose your right to human rights, ever.

That's why they're called inalienable human rights.

I keep coming back to Making Love With The Land by Joshua Whitehead. Something in the book really grabbed hold of me today. The romanticization of Indigenous trauma such as Residental Schools and MMIWG2S is published time and time again, but Indigenous triumphs and joy are shoved to the back. 1/2

As we get into the era of DEI rollbacks and boycotting, I just want to remind you that not everyone can boycott every place- whether that’s due to physical/mental health, socioeconomic status, or location.

Do what you can, when you can. And know what your privileges are.

I called a man out on his shit for being a poor queer ally and he's stopped messaging me everyday. He was very determined to show he's an ally because he dated one once. Okay, sweetie. #lgbtq

While I appreciate seeing people post that they’re an ally/safe person, I would like to gently remind cishet white people that you don’t get to decide whether or not you’re a safe person - that is for marginalized people to decide.

Let your actions speak for you.
