if you use google apps for domains — this still applies!
i did that thing where i went to tech support and made them turn off gemini for the entire organization

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."
There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

I had this discussion with Claude yesterday, and it seems to default to Junior dev meaning it does not test its own code. It will now behave like a senior plus testing its own code before giving it to me.
This has been my last 3 weeks at work. We’ve been mandated to use Claude.ai for some of my UX design systems work and it’s literally like having a toddler as a junior engineer but without the tantrums.

I've managed to deploy my code to github, very stoked! Took a minute, but I got Claude to act like a senior dev instead of a novice (it admitted as much) to help me debug and get it over the line. Fun! #uxdesign #designerwhocodes

I highly recommend doing a google search on your name and reporting any incorrect images. I have noticed it creates AI images for things like my LinkedIn profile. Dumb.

Figma Make is amazing, gets rid of the Prototype Noodles (manually wiring up individual mockups). I do realise Figma stole Sketch's UI, which to me feels a bit dodgy.

Earlier this year, I wrote about how open source is kind of broken.
The tl;dr version:
Big companies profit immensely from free labor and give little or nothing back. Sponsorship models generate very little money, even for popular projects. “Sticky” licenses like GPL do not stop companies from profiteering. It’s only problematic for them if they redistribute the software they create. Pro Tiers with unique features gatekeep hobbyists and people doing public good—the very folks you’d most want to benefit from open source—from access, and are a hard sell unless your project is big and popular.

How did the @foofighters get that massive drum sound on My Hero? Producer Gil Norton &engineer Brad Cook at Grandmaster Studios in Hollywood, Dave Grohl recorded two drum kits in two completely different spaces a cement room and a parking garage to create that huge, echoing roar.
