Trump should be held personally liable and have to pay back to the government (from the gains he has personally made from being president) all funds used to drag this poor man through the ringer and back, ON TOP OF millions in reparations to Kilmar and family for the trauma they have been through.

I’m hoping all the generals and admirals who were forced to attend Hegseth’s military summit will think long and hard as you suggested before they before give orders. Trump’s speech was proof of dementia, and Hegseth proved he has no regard for the law either.

If proven guilty, federal agents responsible for the prosecution should get jail time. People need to start considering the consequences for following illegal orders from their dementia addled boss.

BREAKING: A federal judge finds that there is evidence Kilmar Abrego was VINDICTIVELY PROSECUTED. The judge GRANTS Abrego's motion for discovery and a hearing, and the government must now PROVE it did not vindictively prosecute Mr. Abrego. 1/

Shocking. You’re telling me Trump’s former lawyer turned Deputy AG “interviewed” Ghislaine Maxwell while she is desperate for a pardon and Trump is publicly suggesting he might give her one, and she said she didn’t witness him commit any crimes?

The fix is in.

When this bubble bursts, it's gonna explode.

At least the railroads bubble bursting left us with railways. What are we gonna do when microsoft doesn't maintain the Three Mile Island nuke reactor it bought? What does Memphis do with grok's datacenter that has been choking them for years?

What happened to engineers who have a love of logic and live for the thrill of building things with the illusion of nearly-deterministic math?

Engineering without control of the systems you build is just managing a robot intern from another company who engineers for you.

Oh sorry, a 15% error rate on something that produces an un-managably large quantity of slop? 15% error rate on something that can't even consistently reproduce the last piece of garbage it just conjured up without more error?

Oh got it... so we have a 15% error rate on something that also cooks the earth every time we use it, pollutes marginalized communities, takes water from drought-risk areas, steals from artists and creators, destabilizes already precarious labor environments, and affects our learning? Lol.

It's so funny to me that engineers love AI. I engineer things because I love faultless (or *nearly faultless*) systems.

1% error rate? Too high. How do we fix that and build redundancies and failsafes?

15% error rate? What the fuck are we even "engineering" now? We're just slapping shit together.
If I have to explain to you why it's a bad idea to use a machine that makes shit up 15-80% of the time AND destroys the environment AND contributes to rising fascism and genocide AND puts brilliant skillful creatives out of work by stealing their work, then we're already speaking different languages

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1k/month. A year later, nearly half had housing.

They also had fewer ER visits, nights spent in a hospital, and jail stays.

The report estimates that this reduction in public service use SAVED the city $589k.

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1,000 a month. A year later, nearly half of participants said they had housing.
Participants in Denver's basic-income program reported having more-secure housing, though results were similar in the trial and control groups.

He had the right word. We want to survive. That shouldn’t be revolutionary, but it is. We need more than a resolution. We need a revolution. A small revolution started by you or I, because we could do it too. These six stories in history did. They were just people too. (Link below)

I Really Really want someone to mention to Trump that Musk is taller than him. Like, repeatedly.
Trump’s face says how the hell am I going to get rid of this guy because it doesn’t seem like he wants to go home.

Authoritarians want you to betray each other but they also encourage you to betray yourself through an inner moral collapse- you give up your agency and let the leader "fix it," and you disregard your moral compass.

These people support Trump because they think they can extract what they want while controlling his baser instincts.
Trump can be easily manipulated, but only as a self serving agent of chaos. You can convince Trump to do crazy shit, but you can’t convince him not to do the crazy shit he wants to do
Notable - Mike Johnson on CNN walks back Trump's promise to deport as many as 20m people, saying "I'm not sure that's what's gonna happen. I think what the president is talking about is beginning w/the dangerous persons that we know are here. There are criminals, known criminals"

Indeed. When they rounded up the Japanese Americans, myself and my family included, for internment during WWII out of fear over Japanese spies and saboteurs, two thirds of us were U.S. citizens.

Don’t think it won’t happen again when they come for the “undocumented.”
