If your response to this is, today is worse?

I need you to understand that we did not have a Constitution at all where millions of people were concerned, for generations of US history—at least, not one that guaranteed any kind of freedom. SCOTUS said fine to that. They didn’t have the last word.
I need people to understand the Supreme Court is not the be-all and end-all of everything, even legal things. Abolitionist lawyers went into court and won freedom suits under the Fugitive Slave Act, after the Court upheld its constitutionality. They helped build a movement that dismantled the FSA.

If you’re watching @maddow.msnbc.com’s A Block you understand that people who stand up for other people can change the course of those people’s lives & our history. We have the power to refuse Trump’s path forward. Protesting actually works. Let’s go.

This took a while to get done, but I've chronicled my day among the protesters in Los Angeles, and the idea that this is anything but a celebration of cultural heritage and a firm, nonviolent demand to protect family, friends and neighbors is totally ridiculous.

Cries of Defiance and Songs of Joy in Los Angeles
The protesters are being called unspeakably violent by the Trump administration. I mostly saw clergy sit-ins and Tejano bands.

I heard someone talking on the radio this morning about leaving #dog hair out for #birds to use in their nests

*If pets have been treated with certain flea treatments, this could kill the chicks*

Now seems a good time to repost this article 👇

MSNBC made it perfectly clear that when Trump said they were a threat to democracy they immediately obeyed and fired six people of color.
