And this is exactly the problem with reacting to context- and nuance-free short-form posts on microblog sites like this one. It is very hard to post unequivocal truths without heaping caveats and context upon them, for which there is neither enough space nor dopamine reserves in people scrolling by.

I think he touched the third rail with that post. It struck me as weird and provocative, but not as something from the mind of a eugenicist. I'm just not a fan of punitive uses of the tax code. A progressive tax code, sure. But in any case, neither type will incentivize people to have kids.

The Portland mayor will have more support than Kristi Noem and the Trump administration when it comes to federalizing and occupying cities.

Fascists are desperate for violent disruption they can use an excuse for state violence and power grabs.

They have trouble with mockery, goofiness, and fun.

That holds across just about every type of authoritarianism. They like being feared for cruelty. They hate being laughed at and humiliated.

I'm surprised that you're pro- punitive taxation on people who, whether by choice or not, don't have kids. There are all kinds of ways to reform our taxation system.
A child tax credit is actual policy. A childless tax penalty is frankly gross.

So much new tech is just redundant iterations of an existing thing, but this is a cool leap forward. That said, I much prefer subtitles to overdubs. Something gets lost in translation from the orginal inflection, even if I don't speak the language.

JUST IN: The Republican Mayor of Fairbanks, Alaska’s second biggest city, lost re-election last night to a Democrat.

Mayor David Pruhs is a conservative who fought protections for LGBTQ+ residents; he made comments this year drew condemnation this year from Alaska Natives. He lost to Mindy O'Neall.
