I stand with trans people. Trans men are men, and trans women are women.

My guess is that a lot of trans people will be feeling a ton of stress and worry over SCOTUS today.

If you are a cis person, quote this and say why you support trans people and what you are willing to do to support us if the government comes for us.

Something I’m genuinely kind of encouraged by is that most ordinary normal ass liberals are not buying the Cuomo bullshit and see precisely what it’s trying to do.

Where will future Atillas come from if you just describe it in cold impersonal language?! How will that delight and nurture the soul of the next Vlad Țepeș?!

Once again, I’m wondering why Democrats aren’t running with a straightforward message of “despotism is un-American and unaffordable” right now and all the way into the midterms.

I will not back down.

Trump is now calling for the arrest of elected representatives checking his power.

What else is left on the path to full-blown authoritarianism?
Donald Trump Truth Social Post: Chicago Mayor should be in jail for failing to protect Ice Officers! Governor Pritzker also.

It's almost as if a movement that began with lusty chants of "lock her up" in regard to the opposition party's candidate for President in 2016...combined with a refusal to honor the results of the election...has morphed into a cult of unaccountable, authoritarian power.

Q: Do you agree that the mayor of Chicago and governor of Illinois should be in prison?

MIKE JOHNSON: Should they be in prison? I'm not the attorney general. I'm not following the day to day on that

I am so tired of our media letting weaselly little shits like Mike Johnson slide on these evasions.

Why *aren’t* you aware of blatant violations of the Constitution, Mike?! What makes you at all capable of holding this job?? Why should anyone believe a word coming out of your shitty little mouth??

The elimination of USAID is a moral atrocity and all involved made a choice to enable, and then lie about, ending the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in the world.
MAE SOT, Thailand (AP) - Mohammed Taher clutched the lifeless body of his 2-year-old son and wept. Ever since his family's food rations stopped arriving at their internment camp in Myanmar in April, the father had watched helplessly as his once-vibrant baby boy weakened, suffering from diarrhea and begging for food.
On May 21, exactly two weeks after Taher's little boy died, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio sat before Congress and declared: "No one has died" because of his government's decision to gut its foreign aid program. Rubio also insisted: "No children are dying on my watch."
That, Taher says, "is a lie."

She is the COO en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chief_o... of bsky. This is worrying because after the 'we are turning waffles into an anti-trans thing' by the CEO the CEO started to follow a transphobe. Shows a pattern.

Wonder when we find out one of them follows the discovery institute.

Like, you have to be using zero community moderation tools, for their account to even be visible to you.

Like, did *you* know that Heritage Foundation was here? Probably not, if you use pretty much any community moderation tools.

Note: if you use basically *any* community modlist, you won't even see their account. Very British Bigotry, Asuka, etc already block em for you.

You have to purposely expose yourself to all the worst fucking people around, for you to *even be able to see it*

Ah, let's check in on what the war crimes proponent has to say
David Frum This is a genuinely useful statement. The chilly formulaic language about the 10/7 atrocity ... the intense angry passion of the denunciation of Israel's self-defense ... together they arrestingly reveal what the author cares about and what/who he does not care about.

My statement on the two year anniversary of October 7, 2023.
Two years ago today, Hamas carried out a horrific war crime, killing more than 1,100 Israelis and kidnapping 250 more.
I mourn these lives and pray for the safe return of every hostage still held and for every family whose lives were torn apart by these atrocities.
In the aftermath of that day, Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Israeli government launched a genocidal war: a death toll that now far exceeds 67,000; with the Israeli military bombing homes, hospitals, and schools into rubble. Every day in Gaza has become a place where grief itself has run out of language.
I mourn these lives and pray for the families that have been shattered. Our government has been complicit through it all.
This must end. The occupation and apartheid must end.
Peace must be pursued through diplomacy, not war crimes, and our government must act to end these atrocities and hold those responsible to account.
These last two years have demonstrated the very worst of humanity. We must answer it by modeling the very best: a relentless pursuit of our higher ideals and an unwavering commitment to universal human rights.

It’s really neat that for awhile pundits like this were saying “why can’t Zohran clearly and directly denounce the violence of Hamas?” and when he clearly and directly denounces the violence of Hamas they go “but he didn’t do it with any poetry! It wasn’t beautiful! I demand panache!”

She’s not wrong as Israel would exterminate them just as Israel exterminates everyone.

It’s the same stupid argument for the past decade. These people think that Queer Palestinians don’t exist, that they’re not also being starved to death and bombed from the skies by that genocidal state.

The thing is that even if there weren't queer Palestinians in Gaza who are being killed by the IDF, even if every single individual Palestinian were a raging homophobe or transphobe (they aren't), it still wouldn't be okay to murder them with explosives.

His masked agents already are grabbing people off the street.

Separating children from their parents.

Creating fear.

Taking people for “how they look.”
