“We can’t all be expected to bike.”

Fair. But that’s not the point.

“Not everyone can or wants to bike. But some people can & do—and they deserve a safe, efficient, affordable way to move through the city. It’s about freedom of choice.”

This & other useful comebacks, in @momentummag.bsky.social.
Your Comeback Guide to all the Anti-Cycling Arguments You’ll Hear This Year
Anti-bike arguments aren’t just frustrating—they’re outdated, inaccurate, and often repeated without a shred of evidence.

Folks often think that sales tax can make up for unproductive land use. However, our friends at Urban3 have found that unproductive developments like big box stores and shopping centers are still no match for mixed-use buildings and traditional downtowns, even counting sales tax.

Rule 72: Create Pedestrian Zones Properly

85–95% of ~200 U.S. main streets closed failed due to poor pedestrian zone planning. Create these zones gradually, as needed, guided by proven models, best practices, & community input.
