No other way to see this than as a willful (gleeful?) deterioration of public health.

Every stupid university that unleashed militarized police on legal protestors set up the foundations for the violent persecution of free speech that’s about to come.
he thinks he’s king. he issues executive orders (royal decrees) and the entire society is expected to obey

made up profiles are nothing new on social media. they’ve been used by trolls, catfish, scammers, you know the epitome of who people think of as authentic and benign. kinda telling that Meta designed these products reflecting that cohort.
why do we need AI-generated profiles. why

I’d say the consent manufacturing machine is over-“extending” with this one, but given its history this could just as easily be CNN blindly taking the bait once again. Don’t be fooled either way.

Teenager is woken by police in the middle of the night.

“As it turns out, a poem she had written years ago triggered the alarms of a software called GoGuardian Beacon, which its maker describes as a way to ‘safeguard students from physical harm.’”
Schools Using AI to Send Police to Students' Homes
Schools are employing dubious AI-powered software to accuse teenagers of wanting to harm themselves — and sending the police to their homes.

Prime example of why being a “passive” news consumer simply isn’t possible anymore. Keep demanding accountability, yes, but we should also recognize that tech companies assuming the role of middlemen for the media was never actually for the sake of convenience.
The AI madness is so far out of control that "Our product wrote a completely false news alert and credited a real news source" doesn't even rate a corporate comment, let alone an ashamed apology and pulling the product www.bbc.com/news/article...

On top of a very likely undercount of bodies and bags of unidentifiable limbs, we now have to contend with a reality that Palestinians have violently and literally vanished into thin air.
According to Palestinian health workers & journalists, the Israelis seem to be using new weapons that *vaporize* any human body within a few hundred meters in North Gaza.

Gaza has long been used as a laboratory - the Israelis test weapons & then there is a spike in global demand for those weapons.
