Figured out a way to break out of my reading slump.

Rereading one of my all-time favorites, The Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe. Works every time. It's so damn brilliant you can't help but keep reading.

The only thing that can get that horrible Eagles loss out of my head is some Wrath of Khan.

This sums it up pretty well.

Reading this one right now and I have to say, quite good so far. But I've always been a sucker for a good steampunk.

I just realized I bought "Bimbo" hamburger buns the other day at the supermarket. I have literally never seen this brand in my life and......what a name, wow.

My wife and I had a great time at tonight's Halloween party.

But to be quite honest, we could have used some more cowbell.

Rereading one of my favorite horror books of all-time - MIDNIGHT (1989) by Dean Koontz. It's perfect reading for this time of year. Koontz has always had a hit or miss catalog for me but this one is a sure fire banger of a horror novel. Still great after all these years.

I love Phil Rickman's books. It's especially great reading them around this time of year. So sad that we lost him a couple of years ago.

Been reading a lot of Sheri S. Tepper lately. She was the first sff author whose books really got me into the sf & fantasy genres. It's been great reconnecting with the stories that dazzled me so much as a considerably younger man just discovering the wonder and excitement of speculative fiction.

EXCESSION by Iain M. Banks hasn't been available in ebook format in the US for what seems like forever. So it was with an incredible amount of excitement that I saw it available as a digital ARC on @netgalley.bsky.social this morning. It's about time! Definitely my favorite of the Culture books.

I couldn't resist. Because who doesn't need the images of the Death Star and Darth Vader burned into their grilled cheese sandwiches?

Rereading ANATHEM by Neal Stephenson because I'm in a bit of a rut and this book is just so damn good.

Just ordered food from a local small business seafood place in our neighborhood and got this message. I never really thought about how much third party delivery apps like GrubHub & DoorDash hurt mom & pop places like this. But going forward I will definitely be more cognizant of ordering directly.

Been stalking NetGalley daily looking for the new Richard Swan ARC of STEEL GODS, the sequel to Grave Empire. I need it like I need oxygen.

Out on the boat tonight and it was one of those epic sunset evenings.

I don't think we give enough love to the Portuguese man o' war for being completely badass.

Hope everyone is reading something amazing this weekend. I just started this one from David Hair - MAP'S EDGE and I'm liking it a lot. I really enjoyed his previous fantasy series, so thought I'd give this a shot as the entire trilogy was on sale. So far, so good!

Watched Zombies 4 with my daughters tonight and I'll say it was better than 3 but not quite as good as 1 or 2. I was entertained though and the girls loved it.

Now it's off to continue reading this banger of a book by Melissa Caruso.

RJ Barker does it again and delivers yet another brilliant trilogy. What an amazing finish to the Forsaken series!

My #BookReview of ENGINES OF WAR by R.S. Ford.

Tremendous climax to one of the best fantasy series out there.
