Since the Melania doc is coming out soon, I desperately hope that @paulavarjack.bsky.social and Lowry re-release their perfect "iMelania".

I did all great job of cleaning up my browser tabs today.

Unfortunately that means I now have a bunch of downloaded, unread academic pdfs.

One day something will happen — a wedding, a graduation, a job promotion, Jake Paul getting knocked out, Andrew Tate getting knocked out the next day — and you’ll want the right outfit to celebrate. Buy that special outfit now, so you’re ready when that next unexpected moment arrives.

Epistemicide- the genocide of knowledge. When the academy is serving capitalism they produce anti knowledge. AI is creating fake papers and journals are replicating the error. I blame capitalism.

Testing AI's academic usefulness is fast becoming one of my areas of expertise, & today, Google dangled "Scholar Labs" at me, so I threw a pretty intense research question at it. It did ... okay! At an answer! But use your other research skills, like looking at an author's reference list, first.

This NYT story failed the reader by not digging deeper. One subject dropped out of college after one year (five years ago) and lists "Windows" as his skillset. Story should be: young conservatives who blame immigrants for their personal failures and whose lives won't be improved w/ fewer immigrants

Australian here 👋

Stop saying the tragedy in Sydney demonstrates that strict gun laws don’t work.

There were ZERO mass shootings in Australia in the two decades after strict gun laws were passed in 1996.

We have so much we need to do, but strict gun laws remain a critical part of the solution.

Are designers gonna need to research weather patterns for period shows? Like, set it in the 1990s Virginia, what was the weather like then?

Kirsten Dunst and Channing Tatum should do more age-appropriate-couple movies or TV shows together because like, Roofman is not an amazing film but their chemistry is great and also, middle aged couple horniness accurate, well done

All forms of age-gating are “a privacy nightmare that burdens the civil liberties of people both young and old,” EFF’s @aaronmackey.bsky.social told @AlJazeera.com, forcing all to share sensitive information that could be abused or hacked. www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/1...
Why is Australia banning social media for teenagers?
Critics say new law is 'normalising surveillance' for young people and risks cutting them off from support networks.

I dreamt I was in a lovely bookstore/cafe and when I went to find the bathrooms, my options were either the Rudyard Kipling or John Updike bathrooms, so I'm not sure who needs those genders today but try it.

I love learning about theatre makers, but I get stage fright before interviews, and I absolutely despise transcribing (even with modern tech doing 90% of it). But I love re-reading theatre makers' smart comments! Research is weird.

It’s all smoke and mirrors to allow the real predators to roam free.
