The lying and the staggering incompetence around this is astounding. And dangerous.
After the Atlantic published the texts this morning, Tulsi Gabbard is confronted today on why she lied in her testimony to the Senate yesterday. She says she misremembered.

honestly a little surprised that this is getting full scandal treatment from the press and i think one reason is that it is secretive. high ranking officials were *hiding* something and the (idiotic) aphorism that the "cover-up is worse than the crime" has kicked the scandal instinct into gear.

11/6/2024 was the point of no return.

Honestly I still can’t believe so few people understood that.

Or that so many worked hard to ensure they didn’t figure it out.

Seen on my news and academic feeds today:

"This is highly illegal!"
"Where are the courts?"
"Someone needs to arrest him/them!"
"The military needs to oust them!"
"WHERE ARE THE DEMS?"

This is the denial stage of grief. None of the above institutions are coming to save us.

We are all we've got.

As a Twitter elder who saw the rise and fall of the entire site, I beg of you: get help if you think like this. This is not a normal thing to think about. Your brain has been broken by a website.
Says the guy who’s got 46,000 more followers than followed. What? You’re something special that you can’t follow back even a half or a third of those followed. I could see if this was Twitter where it was all about how many followers you had. Blue sky is suppose 2 B about community. Coolio

Some folks are going to try to make it illegal to wear a mask in New York this year. With COVID still raging, millions dealing with Long Covid (including me), and the stage being set for bird flu or another virus to become the next pandemic, I'll be speaking out against this deeply misguided effort.

Last night on CNN, Cummings listed a bunch of topics that she claimed that "mainstream news media will never cover.”

But her list is a mix of things that were, in fact, heavily covered by the news media and vague allusions to deeply right wing conspiracies.
