I don't really care what the "political consequences" are of fighting for the proposition that *everyone* is entitled to due process before they are removed from the United States and sent to a Salvadoran prison.

It's not really a principle if you only adhere to it when it's politically expedient.

As a person with anxiety, one of the things I do is prepare myself in case the worst case scenario happens in a tangible way. Which is why I find it very hard to forgive when elected officials have 0 plans if the worst case scenario happens.

Do one thing every day to help someone currently in harms way.

Learn how to identify and protect neighbours from ICE agents.

Stand up for the LGBTQ+ community.

Wear a mask in solidarity with the disabled community.

Learn about anti-Blackness and commit to doing better.

Don’t let hate win.

Unsolicited writing advice, #17171617:
Don't just write. Read books. Watch films. Look at paintings and sculpture. Play games. Go to plays. Listen to music. Think about how these things make you feel.
Making art is a two-way stream. To make art, you have to consume art.

3 OF 3: She still hasn't finished any of these books, but hopefully that will stick with her and she will remember as she gets older and goes through her own difficult times.

2 OF 3: I explained to her that stories, just like life, will have sad and hard times. It's important to push through to the other side to see how we change & grow for the better. The only way to get to your happy ending is to go through the tough stuff first.

1 OF 3: My 8 year old daughter has started reading many chapter books and then stops before the end. I am someone that generally finishes a book (unless it's really just awful) so I asked her why. She said "it got sad & I didn't want to read it anymore."
