Update: I’m 38.
nikkijayne.bsky.social
I have a few new followers so hello!

I’m Nikki, 37, British (and slightly salty about it).

My interests include crochet and embroidery, reading (mainly sci-fi), socialising, and learning. I’m both an extrovert and a nerd.

I can be a *bit* of an oversharer so I apologise in advance for that.

In case anyone was wondering how Tim Westwood got away with it for so long…
News report stating: BBC director-general Tim Davie called the claims made against Westwood "appalling" and initially said he'd "seen no evidence of complaints" before later backtracking.
The BBC later confirmed that it had received six complaints about the DJ.

Ugh yes. My neighbours were playing classical music at 7am this morning.

Better than pretty much anything else they could have chosen but come on man. 7am?!

Once a year you should be allowed to look around your neighbour's house.

Just, you know, to see what it's like, how they've arranged things differently to you, and what the hell they've put next to your wall that's so bloody loud ALL THE TIME.

I asked the Guardian’s research department to count up the number of stories in national newspapers about asylum seekers or small boats or refugees. They found 542 in just the past month. And how many on the cost of living or essentials or living standards? Just 45.

If someone is asking for something ‘asap’ maybe don’t wait until the end of the week to ask me for it when I have other stuff going on? Maybe? Perhaps?

It cannot be made clearer.

If you continue to support the Harry Potter franchise in any way, you are directly funding the removal of trans people's human rights in the UK.

Interesting question, any legal people know how this would go?
#lgbtq #trans #law
The image shows a tweet from QuinnyCoded, a Twitter user.

The tweet is written in white text on a black background and reads:

"If I drop out I'm gonna get a boob job then go out topless, since Florida isn't a good state that's illegal for women,.but since I'm a trans woman my arrest and legal case would either outcome that

A) toplessness for trans women is illegal, therefore making trans women legally closer to cis women

or

B) toplessness for trans women is legal, making gains for the free the nipple movement"

* The tweet mentions a specific topic, which is the legality of topless women in Florida.
* The tone of the tweet is humorous and sarcastic.
* The use of slang and abbreviations, such as "NSFW" and "topless," adds to the informal and conversational tone of the tweet.
* The tweet includes a clear call to action, asking the reader to choose between two possible outcomes (A or B).
* The use of emojis, such as the "👀" and "💁‍♀️," adds a playful touch to the tweet.
* The tweet includes a personal anecdote, which helps to make the topic more relatable and engaging.
* The use of hashtags, such as "#topless" and "#transwoman," helps to categorize the tweet and make it more discoverable.

Overall, the image shows a humorous and lighthearted tweet that pokes fun at the complexities of gender identity and sexual freedom.

It’s like clean streets, fewer potholes, and working street lights - it won’t transform the economy, but it’ll counter the feeling of decline and that nothing works anymore. It‘ll help people feel better about where they live.

Middle-class moralising is so fucking tiresome.

Very anecdotal but the Gen Z people I know either don’t drink as much because it’s more expensive, or choose cheaper drugs. They’re still getting off their tits.

Why are the vibes so off with this government. The whole culture at the moment is about moderation and harm reduction, especially among the young and middle aged voters that Labour needs to cling on to if it's going to retain a coalition of support.
