It's so important to nip the framing of this reporting in the bud right now.

Don't accept the narrative that Trump and his team only just started discussing invoking the Insurrection Act. January 6 happened because his White House was in conversation with radicals about what it'd take to invoke it.
Trump administration officials seriously discussing invoking Insurrection Act, sources say
A decision isn't expected to be imminent, one source said, but debate within the administration has shifted recently to more deeply exploring how and when the act might be invoked.

What happens when TSA agents and air traffic controllers are using their paid leave time en masse (for those who have it) to adjust to not getting paid? Will PTO not be accepted? Isn't working without remuneration a form of servitude?

Good reporting on the South Shore raid from South Side weekly here.

Confirms one thing I was told but didn't put in my own piece because I didn't have a second source and it seemed too insane: border agents segregated arrested residents by race

Federal Agents Storm South Shore Building, Detaining Families and Children
Families were woken by flashbangs and helicopters as hundreds of federal agents raided their homes. Days later, neighbors are still searching for the missing.

One of the big things about the Secretary of Defense role, and why waivers for Mattis, etc. were controversial, is that it's a civilian job. And any former military needed to be a certain number of years removed, save for a waiver.

Those who are Gen X and younger will generally have a lower standard of living than Boomers.

Yet this sod is cheering those privileged enough to drop out of schools like Stanford and not worry about decades of debt.

People who forward rubbish deserve rebuke not adulation.

NEW: I spoke to clergy and faith leaders who've joined protests at the Chicago-area ICE facility.

Three say they've been shot with pepper balls, sometimes while praying.

All say ICE is also violating their religious freedom, and one is arguing it in court. religionnews.com/2025/10/07/i...

Um, ICE just coldly shot an unarmed PRIEST in the head w a pepper ball when he (and everyone around him) clearly posed no threat.

For the crime of … complaining about government policy.

They had to buy the Post, gut the newsroom, and restaff with reactionary grifters that don't deserve to carry their predecessors' dirty socks; that was the only way to remake the paper, because they were never gonna get through the front door on merit.

This little twerp, who’s been there a few months, axed two of the lions of WaPo??

Fisher is an investigative champion and had been at The Post for 39 years. Hoffman had been there for 42, and he won a Pulitzer LAST YEAR.
