As more and more states roll out some form of mobile driver’s license, you might be asking yourself: should I use this thing? www.eff.org/deeplinks/2...
Should I Use My State’s Digital Driver’s License?
A mobile driver’s license (often called an mDL) is a version of your ID that you keep on your phone instead of in your pocket. In theory, it would work wherever your regular ID works—TSA, liquor

Take note of all these people turning out for protests in small towns in red states.

Remember them the next time you’re inclined to write an area off because “they voted for this.”

“Yeah, well, I'm going to go award my own Nobel Prize. With blackjack … and hookers.”
Newsmax goes through the 5 stages of grief over Trump losing the Nobel Peace Prize.

"I don't think he should want a Nobel Prize cuz does he really want to be next to Barack Obama, Jimmy Carter and Yasser Arafat?"

The host then says Trump "should get his own award" from countries that support him.

What we lose when we lose historical memory. We've gotten a lot of feedback about this message from @vermontgmg.bsky.social in our recent episode -- he has a new WWII oral history out now, and our full conversation is in the This Day podcast feed.

We need to build some real social stigma around being afraid of cities. You don't have to like them or live there, but a politics built this strongly around watching TV and going "ewww" is embarrassing, and people should be embarrassed by it. It's like "fear of werewolves" being your top issue.

Kind of incredible to watch much of the press buy into the idea that Elon Musk was trying his best to reform government, got frustrated, and is now going to return to being Tony Stark. We'll be living with the pointless, reckless, and idiotic destruction this man caused for decades.

OK, this is wild.

In September 2023, geophysicists across the world started monitoring a very odd signal coming from the ground under them.

It was picked up in the Arctic. And Antarctica. It was detected everywhere, every 90 seconds, as regular as a metronome, for *nine days*.

What the HELL?
