The NSO apps are perhaps even worse than this in that they don't seem to market to anyone at all. They're just like "okay here are some roms!" :^)

It's an insanely sterile and a real disservice to the games on offer and the people who might be interested in them.

I could also write at length about how Nintendo's subscription-based emulator apps do less than nothing to help people who weren't around for the games' original release and how rereleases in general have a bias to be released as nostalgia products for existing fans rather than being marketed to all
