Trans people should take heart in these numbers. It proves that anti-trans messaging doesn't decide elections or doesn't automatically sway swing voters to Republicans. Republicans anti-trans messaging is a proxy for "Democrats care more about social issues than they care about you."

Instead of rallying behind Newsom, Dems should look at what's working for him and do more of that while ardently supporting trans rights and dragging the far right through the mud.
