I think it's very annoying that by "tech" (see: techno-optimism) people only refer to the most recent, most hyped investment tool. So that if you don't buy the hype of the most recent bullshit, you're anti-tech. I'm not anti-food if I don't buy White Castle's new sliders, bro.

Told myself when I started lifting a couple months ago that I'd get a belt once I crossed 2 plates squat and 3 plates deadlift. Figured that would take me some time to reach.
Well, I hit a 250 squat last Monday and a 355 deadlift this Monday. Good thing my bonus just hit so I can afford the belt 😅.

One of the glaring weaknesses of the US system, where elections are on a consistent schedule rather than determined by events, is really on full display right now: pols take actions that might hurt them with voters when elections are a long ways off, knowing that the electorate has a short memory.

Just gonna throw out there again that we know we're a real FIFA country now because we're hosting a World Cup and the Wikipedia page has a subheading, "Human rights concerns in the United States."
