Pleased to report all clear on the editor-in-chief’s blood tests. Also put on some weight that in part prompted tests. He needs some extra pain relief now that the injection has worn off. He’s adapting to having a couple less back teeth. Vet: “He’s in remarkable condition for his age.” Proud of him!

Good morning. The editor-in-chief has to have blood tests today so it’s nil by mouth. So far I’ve received the eager “What’s for breakfast, feed me now” look, the “Hello! I’m starving down here” look, “Excuse me! The food’s in there” look and “You don’t love me anymore” look. Those eyes! The guilt!

One final but no less super important thing to add here, is just how much support I’ve received from folk both inside and outside the industry this past year while I’ve been going through my cancer journey. Genuinely, I couldn’t be a luckier soul in that regard.

One exec probably gave me the biggest bear hug of my entire life. Great guy. Amazing writing. On another occasion I was chatting privately with an exec about something they were working on and asked if I could dive a bit deeper into their work. This lead to a great phone chat - their suggestion.

Networked and made solid lengthy friendships with screenwriters, novelists, directors and exec producers. Met some irl. Previously, during Covid lockdowns on old blue bird site hosted live tweets of hit BBC dramas alongside screenwriters/execs, cast and crew. We trended at number one several times.

Also why we’re fighting to allow others have their creative ‘voices’ seen and heard. Who wants to live in a world where people are treated like machines whose soul purpose for being is mass production and their lives deemed as meaningless, unless you’re mega wealthy. #ScriptSkyUK #WritingCommunity

IIRC for every £ of investment in the creative industries it generates £4 to the UK economy, making it one of the profitable industries we have. Not only that our creative artists and their work are the benchmark to which others look to when it comes to our high standards of creativity.

It also brings in billions to the U.K. because we have exceptionally well trained actors, film & theatre technicians, costume designers & stylists, plus state of the art studios.
We have a thriving music industry, world renowned art comedy & dance, plus massively popular festivals, gigs & events.
