There are 20 million people in the US with long covid, and tens of millions more with a high risk/immunocompromised condition.

Why, in 2025, are you mocking disabled and sick people??
Dear Jon Stewart c/o @weeklyshowpodcast.bsky.social
I recently watched, with great surprise and disappointment, a weeklyshowpodcast segment in which you and other "personalities," gleefully mocked and derided the relatively small subset of individuals who continue to wear a face mask in public.

Yeah. I know...
The gif is uncomfortable for us to acknowledge.
But the part that stung me the most?
"We're not under a dictatorship. You are."
It forces one to accept that reality, because we ARE!
But if it was my only choice, I'd still GLADLY crawl on broken glass to vote 💙 in the mid terms.

My family and I, and the entire Japanese American community on the West Coast, were denied due process during our internment in WWII. It is a cherished, critical right for all people within the U.S.’s borders.

Farm life is still and slow. Goats bleat, a rooster calls, and a fish eagle cries occasionally. Horses and cows graze in the paddocks. Clouds sneak up over the mountain.

This is why I loathe AI apologists in the library. “Just have AI do w/e for you, while teaching patrons how to use it and how to protect themselves from it.” Like. No. It’s job is to make slop. My job is to prove quality information and recreation, that’s why we have collection development policy!
No one says to legit business owners, "hey I see there's an underground market selling toxic knock-offs of your product: how will you incorporate the toxic product AND protect your customers against its harms?" But apparently it's fine to make this suggestion to educators with respect to AI.

One of the most improbable stories in classical music history: not because they are Black, but because they are seven siblings in one family of virtuosos.

The parents of the award winning Kanneh-Masons deserve an award too.

You are painting a vision of a future in which teachers create lessons with "A.i.," students complete them with "A.i.," and teachers grade them with "A.i."

No learning takes place under this system.

The only benefactors of this system are the corporations being paid for the "A.i." products.

Thanks for sharing this document, @rweingarten.bsky.social.

I read it, and I believe it's inexcusably inadequate and will not prepare teachers or schools to confront the very real dangers of the "A.i." products pushed by your partners, including OpenAI.

A few thoughts for your consideration...

At various points, the document gives lip service to the need to educate students about the possibility of disinformation or other harms. But it puts all of the responsibility for this on teachers, not on the billionaires pushing this miserable tech. This is an anti-teacher document, in my opinion.
