In a strange way the appearance of A/I has made me want to make things myself now because I used to put so much pressure on myself to make things “perfectly.” But now seeing folks praise prompt generated stuff as art, has me caring less about perfection and more about process and growth.

Another spooky piece from my world of Zastos from a few years back. A group of aspiring but incompetent mages decided to take a shortcut to power by trying to sacrifice someone to a spirit to grant them more power.

It doesn't work out well for them.
5 figures stand together in a dim forest lit by eerie yellow light. All of them wear cloaks and hoods obscuring their faces almost like a uniform. They are mage students of Zastos all about to engage in a dangerous ritual. The figure in front holds a lantern to chase off the gloom and fog around them.

My friend & artist @leighwalls.bsky.social sent me some inked sketches back in 2020 on 3x5 index cards & I finally laminated & put some on my wall near my workspace for inspiration. They are some of my treasured pieces. Leigh’s inks are some of the best I’ve seen & I hope we’ll collab again soon.

I think my red and orange Canna lilies cross pollinated and created a hybrid (photo 1&2) I’m seeing not far from them. I’m no plant expert, so I’m not sure, but it has characteristics of both. 🌱

A trap I found myself succumbing to was “living for an invisible audience.” It’s not something I purposely sought, but I noticed it subtly creep into my taste, personality, responses… now I find myself giving and asking for more grace because the more I learn the less I seem know.

Something I've been slowly doing is settling in on world signifiers for #Ha-Nahn. One of the first big ones I've worked in recently is calligraphic magic.

It's harder to see in Nature's Aegis but if you zoom in...

Was listening to some random podcast and the guest was talking about how much he loves entrepreneurship and the freedoms it brings. But he then said that he empathizes but has no good advice for folks who want to opt out of capitalism and “just” garden.

Well…

I guess this episode’s not for me.
