Am I reading this correctly: the firms that opposed Trump's intimidation tactics have suffered no consequences, whereas the firms that struck deals gave away $900 million while jeopardizing any work with clients who have interests at odds with the government?

There's a lesson in there somewhere.

Newsom: The New Testament and Old Testament have one dominant thing in common—Matthew, Isaiah, Luke, Proverbs, go down the list—it’s about food, about serving those who are hungry. It’s not a suggestion; it’s core and essential to what it means to align with God’s will.

the point of the ballroom obvs has nothing to do with aesthetics. it's to create an architectural structure to honor the patronage networks that currently dominate US politics. previous WH venues hosted maybe a couple of hundred people; this hosts nearly 1,000 rich donors.

Remember this treachery ends the moment the Republicans in Congress decide it's gone too far.

The fact that they haven't decided that suggests they're okay with it.

Love this idea! Don’t want my tax money supporting the federal government until it rights the ship.
Call it a state-organized tax strike. Call it fiscal disobedience. Tell me it’s illegal. I don’t care. The law—now Trump’s fascist tool—is not justice and is not binding when its founding social contract is disregarded. We must stop paying for our own subjugation.

No one was killed or arrested at today's No Kings rally against Trump in New York City.

At this MUCH smaller rally *for* Trump, at least 3 people were arrested (charged with burning an object with intent to intimidate), >30 people injured, and a woman was intentionally run over by a car and killed.
