I think a key theme in journalism in 2025 is going to be the deep divide between journalists attempting to cover the dangers that generative AI presents as a threat to truth, and news organization leaders pushing to utilize generative AI themselves.

I've seen so many listing for companies hiring people to train their AI whenever I look for journalism, writing, public relations, or even radio broadcasting jobs.
The field is looking bleak right now.

It is an actual threat to the core of what journalism is and why we do it. And I just know there are going to be some deep tensions in adequately covering it in the coming year and beyond.
