Speaking as a married straight guy, the whole “rating female’s looks on the Internet” thing is weird no matter what. I would feel like a jerk and a perv if I did that IRL, so why would I do it online where everyone can see that I’m trash? I guess being capable of shame isn’t in everyone’s skillset.

It will never not be — funny, I guess? — that the people who accused me of having TDS are now way more deranged than I ever was.

George Washington contemplated war from the interior even if the army were shattered and the cities taken. He wrote that we might retreat, but could never be conquered. He never imagined a set of British victory conditions that would end the struggle. America dies only if that spirit dies.

I write fairly detailed reviews of books I listen to. I’d be happy to provide this person with some links and challenge them to identify where I failed to absorb important information. Unless, y’know, this is all just free-floating anxiety about social change wrapping itself in pseudoscience.

Correct. The aggregate American voter chose to hand an authoritarian sociopath unified control of the federal government. The aggregate American voter chose pain. The aggregate American voter chose to prevent the opposition party from meaningfully mitigating that pain. Democrats don’t own this.

I was a child in the 1980s. I had free room and board, free education, and three months off every year. Things are objectively worse now.

This is a joke, but there’s a not-joke inside it for those paying attention.

Heck, I know I'm willing to fight to the last poor man.

Yep yep. Gotta have a House to pass a bill. Hard to do when a certain ✨dead guy✨ has East Winged half of Congress.

ICE: "You will regret you were ever born."
Chicagoans: "Too late, bro."

I miss the world where neither side wanted to give me lifetime drudgery lightened by lectures on Together Toward a Better Future Together.

Weimar Germany’s democratic tradition was young, weak, and imposed on a sullen populace in an unpopular peace by hated enemies. The U.S. is proud of its 240-year democratic tradition, with DNA stretching at least to 1215. Weimar was capable of collapsing in a way hard to imagine here.

I think often of how fast the Nazis would’ve hung Ghandi.

This is the nonsense I hear from my MAGA-brained family and friends. They live in a fabricated reality that allows them to believe they and their wise and righteous friends know the truths hidden from the rest of us sheep. Gnosticism calls to us all, and some answer.

I love that he initials his post, like an elderly grandpa closing a text message with a signature. Makes him seem more relatable tbh.

Many people are saying this.

The bigotry I see in my Facebook feed should be hung in the Louvre. Is there anything more beautiful than reactionary dorks helplessly throwing their keyboards across the room?

This is all America has ever needed.

Tom, just this morning I shared an unflattering meme of President Trump. Two masked members of ICE showed at my door. They shoved me into a van and drove me into the town center, where they shot me. I am currently dead and hanging from a lamp post. You need to wake up. This is America now.

Pastor’s kid here. The sheer volume of people trying to scam tiny little neighborhood churches is impressive. Leaders at these churches typically can tell who’s lying and who actually needs something from the benevolence fund. I’m not surprised so many saw right through her.

That’s rough. You don’t need this static. No one does. Let’s hope for the best. 🙏🏻

Key phrase to my mind: “…which the First Circuit is expected to issue
with dispatch.” No way to know the final ruling, but SCOTUS doesn’t look like it’s playing a foot-dragging game. If they resolve fast in favor of SNAP, that’s okay: a few extra days to illuminate the admin’s ghoulishness.
