Here's the thing about Trump firing the head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics I feel like isn't getting said. He truly believes the numbers were cooked. He's incapable of understanding that something he did has failed so spectacularly. Especially things related to the economy.

As protests gain momentum, it's important to recognize and call out COINTELPRO-style behavior

Today on Volts: enhanced rock weathering (ERW) accelerates a natural process whereby atmospheric carbon is bonded to rocks & sequestered (eventually) at the bottom of the ocean. I talk with scientist @hausfath.bsky.social about how it works & why it might actually be the carbon removal that scales.

You can extinguish tear gas canisters!
Wearing gloves, submerge the canister in a wide-mouthed water jug containing baking soda, dish soap, and/or vegetable oil—3 tablespoons of each per liter of water.
Cover the top with one hand, just enough to keep the gas from getting out, and shake the jug.
