As a member of the Radical Open Access Collective, Cadernos de Linguística embraces collective, care-driven publishing that resists extractive models and fosters intellectual autonomy.
Open access is not just free access — it's about rethinking how knowledge is created, shared, and sustained.
Graphic card from Cadernos de Linguística featuring the Radical Open Access Collective. The image includes a large orange “A” symbol, partially enclosed in a dark gray circle, representing open access. The text reads: “RADICAL OPEN ACCESS COLLECTIVE. A global network of scholar-led, not-for-profit publishing projects. It promotes open access through care, experimentation, and critique — beyond commercial models and extractive publishing practices.” The design is minimalist, with a light beige background and dark gray text.

2. an academic

But I want to mention something the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) funds with its tiny slice of the budget — which was just gutted.

Funding to make scholarly books Open Access — free for the public to read, anywhere.
