Between 2001 to 2014, more than 40,000 Canadian Armed Forces members served in Afghanistan. We lost 158 soldiers. We went to support our neighbours who were attacked on 9/11. We didn't ask for a thank you. As a friend, we saw it as our duty. Hard to comprehend how that loyalty has been rewarded

Here’s the hard truth: if 🇨🇦Canada is to remain independent, there will be much pain ahead as we reorient our economy away from easy reliance on the behemoth to the south.

Yup. We need to adopt a truly war-like effort to pivot away, systematically, deeply, and permanently. Yesterday.
We're all doing our best to attribute this mess to one out-of-control leader, but the thing that nags me for the longer term is that we basically can't trust the U.S. anymore.
What good are trade deals, mutual defense deals, water treaties, etc. etc. with a country capable of lurching like this?
