Sometimes police violence is the story but more often resistance is the story and telling it in a way that makes police the main actors strips agency from people fighting back, reproduces the toxic white myth of innocence, and keeps us from learning about tactical choices folks are making

when my parents were unsuccessfully trying to get me into violin they never drew the connection to my favorite song at the time being danse macabre. it was Right There and even learning the opening would have gotten me really hype i think

the idea that kids and beginners in any artistic field Need to start in a certain way is one i will always reject bc its such an easy way to kill your passion before it can even really develop. you gotta have fun! you can practice the basics and still have fun!!

my parents tried to teach me violin when i was ~4 and i found it boring and hated it and they gave up on trying to teach me pretty quickly but i wonder a lot how that would have gone if they had given me something other than twinkle twinkle to learn

also we haven't had any stomach discomfort from them which is a relief lol. this is the third day we've had them and we've been increasing the amounts... we will run out soon if we keep this rate up bc we only have one planter so im gonna slow my roll there lol.

some of you know about my struggles with ARFID and how hard it is for me to eat a wide range of vegetables, which is a big part of my interest in food gardening. these have been really exciting to grow and i wanna share tubers with friends in the spring so they can grow some too
