My mom is back to being in a really bad way medically. I just finished an extremely busy week that really physically wore out my body. We’re going to R’s mom’s house tomorrow. I haven’t wrapped anything at all yet. I got to perk up and be festive.

🎥 I watched The Housemaid the other day and that movie had the strangest pacing. It felt like a movie that was heavily padded as it crawled towards The Twist but it lingered in very odd moments.
Ultimately, a very forgettable movie.

Good morning, I have been very socially checked out but I went to the zoo yesterday and it replenished my soul a bit. F u z z y.
They took my mom off her ventilator and she’s breathing on her own and awake, but they do not yet have answers as to why she crashed so hard or what her next steps will be. My brother is a big optimist and keeps saying she’s out of the woods but dude, we don’t know ANYTHING about this forest.
My mom is in the ICU on a ventilator in NY right now and I’m still recovering from mastoiditis and cannot fly for at least another couple of weeks or I risk re rupturing my ear drum which is just starting to heal and possibly losing my hearing on that side forever. Plus I get my MS infusion tomorrow

So, R and I have been watching Welcome to Derry, and I expected this show to kinda suck, tbh. But it’s surprisingly quite good.
Kiddo’s kid does this thing where he takes a bite of food and then announces “I like this?!?!” in shock and that’s how I feel watching this.

Nothing makes my mood drop more quickly than getting into my downstairs seat as a physically disabled person with a disabled ticket on @amtrak.com and immediately having a conductor judge me based on my age and tell me to move upstairs without looking at my ticket. Happens about 2/3rds of the time.

I liked this one a lot. Mann is a director who really grew on me as I got older. It was fun to see scenes shot on the hill overlooking our old apartment. This film is a love letter to LA, and it spends lots of time in a car without getting claustrophobic.
