Thanks @greethewriter.bsky.social and #HorrorWritersChat. Sorry about the brief crash out at the end.

I immediately love it. I see it like the librarian from ghostbusters, in that it only becomes evil if you disturb it.

Rhyme? Oh Christ…

The moment you entered the graveyard,
The scrape of ancient stone shadowed your ears,
For the lure of an elegantly talented bard,
Washed away all your past and future fears…

That’s all I have in this short space.

Come forth, Baron Crescendo! Let your guitar split the sky open, for more wraiths to dazzle us!

Behold, a note from him, for you!

“The moment you entered the graveyard, the scrape of ancient stone shadowed your ears.”

Finish it! With word of rhyme, before we dance to the end!

#HorrorWritersChat
Art by Jelle Husson, featuring a haunted monastery of many sharp-tipped towers scraping at the midnight sky. The largest is in the centre of the structure’s roof, whose walls are painted white. The monastery is located above a hilly terrain of dark stone and dark green moss. A stony, twisting road leads to the monastery.

Question Four

There he is! Baron Crescendo! Oh how the skies split open to his guitar, how more of us fly in the air! And look, a note from him, just for you!

“The moment you entered the graveyard, the scrape of ancient stone shadowed your ears.”

Well? Go on! Word or rhyme, continue his Muse!

Q3: #HorrorWritersChat
As a disbeliever in any thinness between veils, I like seeing authors find ways to bring ghosts into our world. Is it gas? Is it madness? Is it time travel? Is it an inter-dimensional insect infestation?
greethewriter.bsky.social
Listen to the Symposium’s finest vocalist, as their tenor bends the living into unnatural angles and swivels them into the air! Tell us, what ghosts do you prefer? Of the folkloric tradition, or those invented by authors? And why?

It is always a delight to see our violinists perform! How the living bend their splintering bones as they float above us all! Tell us, our ghostly compatriots – which of us are better? Of the folkloric kind? Or invented by our shadowy creators?

Harold Ramis: so in this montage, you see us busting all sorts of ghosts, and…

Dan Aykroyd: and i get a blowjob from a ghost!

HR: …

DA: can just be a dream…

“You spelt my name wrong on my order and now you’re cursed to serve me… forever!

So yeah, decaf oat milk latte, with a shot of cinnamon syrup. And a biscuit.”

I’ve now got the image of a ghost standing at a peach display in a supermarket, singing the song “Peaches” by The Presidents of the United States of America.

Now, let us begin! Let the flutes bleat and the trumps blare, snatching all the souls of the living away! What are your favourite haunts? Mausoleums? Lavish estates? What secrets do their wraiths protect within?

Ah, the performance has begun! Behold the souls of the living darting into the flutes and trumpets! Now, as you sip your ectoplasmic wine, tell us – what are your favourite locations for ghosts? And why?

I’ve scribbled some ideas for stories, but yet to do something concrete. There’s an SCP that does the idea of a ghost ship fantastically. Nice blend of alien geometries and madness.

Ooh, do like a haunted prison now and again. So much potential for terror…

Big, historic houses and haunted prisons are my favorite places to haunt! And hunt. I do a lot of ghost hunting in those sorts of locations.

The best ‘ghosts’ are the ones that ‘haunt’ people’s memories. What I’m talking about here aren’t ’ghosts’ in the accepted sense. Those don’t exist. What exists, and is scary, is ‘the past’.

I like unexpected locations. A spooky old house is always a classic, but I kinda love haunted objects and remote locations. I am however a SUCKER for ghost ships.

I find a spirit created through the corruption of memory usually provides the best haunts. As stated earlier, a shade of another reality leaking through to ours, lost and damned to claw in desperation to return to life. Soon, their madness becomes malevolent.

Not sure I have a favorite.
Swamps, damp forests, and railroads seem some fun places to have some angry ghosts hang around.

I do like a secluded village, where dark secrets are held and things aren’t as lovely as they seem. Then again, any location where a group find themselves isolated from the outside world appeals. Anything from a ship in the ocean to a labyrinth underground…

I hate it when that happens, and I don’t even drive. Legally.
