And when a liquor bottle is sold, there's no way of knowing that it won't find its way into the hands of a child, so all liquor should have to be imbibed on the premises where it was purchased.

Since this is the kind of thing the government insists on now.

Erectile dysfunction medication is also sold on the street, so men should have to start taking those in the presence of an official witness, too. Can't be too careful.

And if we're talking about accommodations around testing, ensure that people aren't outright cheating, but otherwise, why does it matter if it takes someone two hours to finish the test versus one? What does it matter if they get a quiet space to do it, when everyone should? Who does it harm?

Really amazing how people just jump right to “xyz will get abused”

So what! That will be a statistical anomaly and a vastly larger group gets included.

Will never forget the HR lady on RTO who was scandalized “employees are spending time with their CHILDREN!”

Gives away the game a bit.

Anyway, I swear to CHRIST if you all Rufo me out of being able to complete grad school I will breathe fire.

What are you all so afraid of? That we might treat people like individuals whose needs ought to be respected? That’s why y’all don’t have work from home anymore.

I am VERY suspicious of people who argue against supports that help disabled people because what if some FAKER gets them?

It is incredibly fucking onerous, because some nondisabled asshole somewhere is like WAIT, what if someone who doesn’t deserve it gets help?!

Meanwhile, every disabled person: good on them! We all need to take care of ourselves and doctors don’t always understand our realities!

If they do, more the fool them, because it’s a fucking nightmare to navigate this campus.

But I’m the one wasting time at a doctor who may be a giant ableist asshat to tell you the thing that is incredibly fucking evident.

Nobody WANTS to go through this nightmare your doubt has built.

In order to use my wheelchair, I had to get a doctor’s note.

Fakers do not actually use wheelchairs, and certainly not on my hilly campus.

Meanwhile, my ass will fall down without it. You really need a certified professional to tell you that?

Because some faker “might” spend £1000 on a wheelchair

Capitalists managed to turn a very simple and *completely normal* problem with automation, into the popular conception of luddites, to the point where they convinced people it's weird to not want to come home missing limbs for a fraction of the wages you deserve.
