@planetmoney.bsky.social /3 no one talks about the US making meth when referencing cough syrup production because it goes through an extensive processing to become the drug. Same thing with coca leaves and it’s bad reporting to not disclaim the full background. www.tni.org/en/publicati...

@planetmoney.bsky.social . Peru is a country with various altitudes and Coca leaf tea is literally given on planes and cafés when you’re moving from lower level to high level regions such as visiting Cusco or Machu Picchu. It’s just a plant/tea & sold in grocery stores in tea bags like green tea/2

@planetmoney.bsky.social just listened to your latest episode on “how the war on drugs got us blueberries” and was really ashamed and embarrassed for the lack of research or disclaimers about the Coca plant. Even a quick Wiki/Google shows you that it’s consumed in various ways for various reasons/1

There's a saying I've heard for years that basically goes "You should meditate for 20 minutes a day, unless you're too busy, in which case you should meditate for an hour every day."

The older and busier I get the more I see the wisdom of this, lol

I almost bought a book on Amazon today, but then I went to eBay and got it slightly used for half the price. Boycotting Amazon is fun AND easy.

Did you know?

There’s a directory of Black farmers: “The Black Farmers Index.”

Buy and uplift local. Many are small-scale specialists and located in urban areas. I found an organic resource in my area that I will definitely check out.

Of the 4000 researchers at NIH, only 20% are tenured. They’re going to fire all the rest as their contracts come up for renewal, absolutely decimating research at the NIH. This is catastrophic, not just for Americans, but for the whole world.

Federal workers at a Virginia town hall last night—this says it all!

“I know their goal is to make us miserable.” — so they don’t show up to work.

And Dems, take note: People aren’t here for your ill-timed, tone-deaf donation requests. It’s going to backfire. They want to see you fight for them!

We’ve tried to shelter our minds but tonight we’re preparing for the genocide of Science.

Entire NIH departments will have no leaders.

World renowned Scientists kicked to the curb without cause, & grants will loose their lead investigators.

Is this what they want?
