now that we're thinking properly, there's a case for Virginia over Bama? Same number of losses (including in the conference championship which shouldn't be punished), UVA beat a playoff team (Duke) just like Bama over Georgia, but at least UVA beat Florida State.

yes of course you're right but boy I wish there was an obvious solution that would simultaneously solve 1) the ACC lobbying against you 2) the ACC having an odd number of teams and 3) getting blowout wins over Syracuse and Stanford to count for something
