Part time godot solo game dev, studied at the master level in polsci on the subject of human/environment/energy relations. Passable vegan cook. Moving towards peasant agriculture.
I finally rebuilt my map generator from scratch and it's now a lot easier to diagnose, doesn't get stuck in infinite loops, and the maps are more labyrinthic (which is good in my case). Now, all I need to do is put back in the props and put it into the main play scene. I'm hyped!

I'm impressed by how much better I've gotten at generating procedural maps and storing the data for further use and feature implementation. Before, I stored everything in vector form inside arrays, which made it very hard to visualize. Now, I store a ton of info in bitmaps. Much more useful.

If you're attending a No Kings Rally you need to wear a mask. Do not continue to be a vector for a disease that is disproportionately killing and disabling the people you're protesting for. A well-fitted is the standard, but any face covering can save lives. Bring extras and share.

I exported my first demo build for my game #JunkRunner... and it doesn't even launch 😅

Turns out, #Godot updated their engine yesterday and I downloaded the wrong templates... oops, better luck tomorrow!

Never underestimate what updating a plugin will do for your code (positively and negatively). A simple update and boom, two major bugs related to the plugin have been fixed. Easy as pie. Now, all I need is a basic interface, some sound effects and the concept demo can be released

Welp, I decided I'd start working on a #TTRPG battlemap generator to develop more skills in procedural generation and create, at the same time, a very useful tool for dms that want a more narratively fitting map, but don't have the time to do it all by themselves. We'll see where this goes!

I feel like there is not a really good option to generate battlemaps for #ttrpgs, all of them seem to be lacking. Either they generate a strange, empty dungeon, or you have to dyi, or the AI stuff just fails at making an actual battlemap. I really think there's something missing.

So... I've been thinking a lot recently about developing a tool for TTRPGs that would be able to generate tile-based battlemaps procedurally. Since I hate subscriptions, I was thinking of selling it at a low price point of like... 15$. Am I the only one who thinks it would be great?

Getting some breathing room allowed me to start working on my game again! I have a better concept now and feel more informed about what makes a good roguelike. Now, I'll have to find a way to make building strong combos work with the fear of horror.

It's been 6 months of insanity:
- Moving to a new region
- Starting a new job
- Doing a ton of house repairs and some demolitions
- Taking care of a little dog
- Not being at home 10-11 hours per day during the week
- Barely able to pay the bills during all that time

Finally, I feel I can breathe!

I hope to get a good demo going this year, hopefully before summer, to show what the main gameplay loop is going to be and how fun it can be. I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing my broken build yesterday.

My game is clearly going to be a Roguelite with a lot of looting, trading and horror vibes. Good luck balancing between pushing your luck and looting more gear or leaving early to be safe at the cost of potentially highly valuable gear!
