President Trump said late Saturday that he would issue an executive order to require voter identification for all U.S. elections, a continuation of his efforts to overhaul the nation’s election laws, which he has long attacked and falsely blamed for his 2020 election loss.
Trump Says He Will Sign Executive Order Mandating Voter I.D.
He also wants to restrict mail-in voting and allow only paper ballots. The Constitution doesn’t give the president explicit authority over election law.

An innocent man was sent to an El Salvadorian prison and the Supreme Court just decided not to bring him back. The rot in this country, in our politics & courts is so much deeper than one man. Do not let their lack of humanity corrode your own. The real question is what are we willing to sacrifice?

The moral ecosystem of law firms is dividing along a corporate/litigation axis, which falls largely along a geographical fault line of NY/DC.

I've talked about this elsewhere, as have others, but THIS is why Trump and all of the others are trying to make their moves through (illegal, overreaching) executive orders: They can't actually pass this hate as legislation. Here, the anti-trans sports bill was stopped in its tracks.
By a vote of 51 to 45, the #Senate did not invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to S.9, the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports bill. Party line. Senators Capito, Lummis, Slotkin, and Welch did not vote.

i am 100% of the belief that simply forcing take-writers to answer the question "who specifically said this and why are they significant" would result in substantially fewer bad takes circulating in the world
if i ever teach a class on argumentative writing i am going to use these paragraphs as an example of how to NOT write persuasively for an audience.
