I am a pacifist. I am opposed to violence in all but the most immediate, urgent cases of self-defense. I am not tempted toward violence now. But I don't know what to do with this burning rage I feel toward the institutions we were told were here to protect us and the people who sold that lie.

When you base your strongly held moral stances on contingent facts, you will inevitably end up in situations where you're faced with either having to reject facts that contradict your moral stances or concede the stances. You will probably do the former.

As always, my firm belief that I am an insane loser prevents me from falling prey to this kind of epistemic crisis. Oh, you sound like me? Well I hate myself. What's that, your ideas are similar to mine? Then you must be an idiot.
The outcome of these technological changes in the cost of publishing is a media environment (which, again, our brains perceive as a social environment) of pure indulgence, where we can easily avoid any uncomfortable notion and instead seek out whichever idea we most enjoy believing.
