This isn’t exactly a novel take, but a large part of this is that Newsom is conventionally attractive. Pritzker and Walz are older and not particularly attractive. Mamdani is attractive but brown, so…. Had either three of them looked like Newsom, things might be much different. Fucking frustrating.
putting aside the trans rights issues specifically (lol), I think part of what has me so frustrated with the Newsom thing is that Pritzker, Walz, and Zohran are putting on clinics for a popular, progressive politics and we’re wasting time talking about this used car salesman ass goblin.
