After a year+ of procrastinating, I've finally put together @nukit.bsky.social's Tempest air purifier, inspired by the fact I'm desperately trying to avoid my partner's COVID. 😭

Anyway, it's sleek as hell and runs so, so quiet. I particularly like the handles built into the top panel.

Haha, yeah, it's not a bad thing. There's also significantly fewer of us, tbf! But yeah, before I immigrated to Canada, I feel like I just sorted English-speakers into a "tourists, general" category unless told otherwise.

I don't think most of Europe even remembers Canada exists most of the time, tbh, let alone pays attention to the flag. Sorry.

From what I understand, Capital Pride withdrew their support statement for Palestine following pressure from the mayor of our city. Seems strange that you have so much to say about how marginalized groups ought to behave but have no censure for a privileged man wielding his power to silence others.

The guns are not the difference. Russia's suppression of protests was and is brutal. A few guns won't make a difference against overwhelming state power, neither in Russia nor in the US.

I've never been to Columbia, but large campuses usually have private security who can remove and trespass people. I'm guessing that's who would get called to enforce these shitty policies. :/

Re: pets -- I have, at times, taken a cool wet rag and wiped my cat down. She did not enjoy it! But it performs a similar function to the wet t-shirt.

These are great tips, thank you for sharing. I am similarly grateful to have AC and worried about folks in my old apartment building, which didn't.

Sorta related, but: one of the first times I saw someone call out the exploitative nature of Shocking Depraved Murder Procedurals, it was one of the creators of Leverage. As someone who had been a big fan of Criminal Minds and true crime podcasts, it made me reconsider some things.

What a cowardly response by the school. I'm not particularly hopeful that OCDSB will do the right thing, but I wrote to the principal and a couple of other OCDSB administrators, and I hope other people do the same. Bright young students should not be punished for shining a light on atrocities.
